The Global forged chef's knife is a heavier drop-forged version of the very popular standard Global chef's knife for those who prefer more heft to the knife. Multiple sizes are available, this Global forged chef's knife has a 8 1/4" blade.

Global knives are made from the finest stainless steel material. The Global knives blades utilize Vanadium / Molybdenum stainless steel, ice tempered and then hardened to Rockwell C56-58 which holds a sharp knife edge longer than most steel and resists corrosion, rust or stains. The first Global knives were designed in 1985 by Komin Yamada who was tasked to create a new modern knife with the best performance possible. With carte blanche he was to design a series of kitchen knives which would appeal to the professional and amateur chef alike, be comfortable and easy to handle, and meet their most demanding requirements.
