Global knives are made from the finest stainless steel material. The Global knives blades utilize Vanadium / Molybdenum stainless steel, ice tempered and then hardened to Rockwell C56-58 which holds a sharp knife edge longer than most steel and resists corrosion, rust or stains. The smooth contours of a Global knife and seamless construction eliminate dirt & food traps, leading to a hygenic and more food-safe knife. Global knives are used by many famous chefs in the finest restaurants and are featured regularly on television cooking shows in the hands of the most celebrated chefs.
The first Global knives were designed in 1985 by Komin Yamada who was tasked to create a new modern knife with the best performance possible. With carte blanche he was to design a series of kitchen knives which would appeal to the professional and amateur chef alike, be comfortable and easy to handle, and meet their most demanding requirements. Global knives are made in Japan.
